No Cameras, No Interviews — But Dana Perino Just Funded a Private Rescue Flight for 80 Abandoned Dogs for One Special Reason

There were no press releases. No social media posts. No studio lights. But what Dana Perino did last week is now spreading across the country — not because she wanted it to, but because people needed to hear it.

According to staff at a struggling animal shelter in rural Texas, the former White House Press Secretary and longtime Fox News anchor quietly paid for a private charter flight to transport 80 abandoned dogs from overcrowded shelters to loving, permanent homes in the Northeast.

And she never asked for recognition.

“We didn’t even know who funded it at first,” said Michelle Rhodes, the shelter’s director. “We were told a donor wanted every dog to have a second chance. Then we found the note she left in the supply crate.”

The note was short. Just seven words:

“For Jasper. And every dog like him.”

Perino lost her beloved Vizsla, Jasper, in 2021 — a loss she described as “losing a part of my soul.” Since then, she’s advocated for animal rescue, but always quietly. This flight was reportedly organized in secret, with Perino working directly through her private foundation.

Each dog on the flight now has a foster or adoptive family waiting. Some were hours from euthanasia before the paperwork cleared.

“She didn’t want attention,” Rhodes added. “She just wanted them safe.”

When reached for comment, Perino responded simply through her representative:

“The cameras weren’t needed. The flight was.”

Across the country, dog lovers, rescue workers, and everyday Americans have been moved to tears. Hashtags like #ForJasper, #PerinoFlight80, and #SilentRescue are trending, as hundreds more inquire how they can help.

“She didn’t just save dogs,” one rescue worker wrote. “She reminded us what quiet kindness looks like.”
