In a stunning and selfless move that no one — not even his wife — saw coming, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld announced this week that he is selling his newly purchased beachfront property to fully fund the education of children living in a suburban orphanage in New Jersey.
The oceanfront estate, valued at over $7.8 million, was intended as a private getaway for Gutfeld, wife Elena Moussa, and their growing family. But just weeks after closing, Gutfeld says he “couldn’t shake the feeling” that the property was meant for something greater.
“I stood there, staring at the waves,” he shared on Gutfeld! Monday night. “And all I could think was: how many kids out there don’t even have a shot at college, let alone a view like this?”
According to sources, Elena Moussa was not informed until hours before the announcement aired — and was left speechless.
“She thought he was joking,” said one show producer. “Then she realized he was absolutely serious — and she just hugged him.”
The donation will cover full education costs — including tuition, school supplies, tutoring, and college application fees — for over 40 children currently residing in the orphanage. Gutfeld is also reportedly setting up a long-term education fund in Mira’s name, his infant daughter, to continue support for future residents.
Social media quickly erupted with admiration:
-
“Greg Gutfeld just traded ocean views for brighter futures.”
-
“Elena’s reaction says it all — stunned, then proud.”
-
“This is the Greg the headlines don’t show.”
When asked if he had any regrets about giving up the dream home, Gutfeld simply said:
“I’ll miss the view, sure. But not as much as I’d miss the chance to do something real.”
