Inside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash’s £1.3M Pickle Cottage — And the One Piece of Furniture No One Dares to Look at for More Than Three Seconds 👀

It may look like a picture-perfect countryside retreat on Instagram, but inside Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash’s £1.3 million Pickle Cottage, there’s one item that guests — and even family — can’t help but avoid.

Tucked away in a sun-drenched corner of their famously cozy and hand-decorated home, sits a hauntingly unusual antique armchair that, according to insiders, gives visitors “serious chills.”

“It’s beautiful, but eerie,” says one close family friend.
“Nobody wants to sit in it. And if you stare too long, it feels like someone’s watching you back.”

Described as deep green velvet with dark oak claw feet, the chair was reportedly picked up by Stacey at an antique fair “on a whim,” drawn to its old-world charm. But the couple quickly noticed something strange.

“Even the kids won’t go near it,” Joe joked in a recent behind-the-scenes video that was quietly taken down hours later. “Our dog won’t sit near it either!”

The chair now resides in the couple’s “quiet room,” a space originally intended for reading and reflection — but now mainly used for storage, due to what Stacey recently described in a Q&A as “weird vibes.”

Fans have taken to TikTok and Reddit to share theories, some suggesting the chair may be centuries old or even “carrying energy from its past life.” A few even claim to have noticed it subtly “moving position” in the background of her Instagram posts — though Stacey herself has brushed it off with her signature humor.

“It’s not haunted… probably,” she said, laughing. “But yeah, it’s definitely not our favorite spot.”

Despite its unsettling presence, Stacey refuses to get rid of it. “It’s part of the house now,” she added. “Every house needs a little mystery.”

📸 What Else Is in Pickle Cottage?
The rest of the Essex estate remains a DIY dreamland — with hand-painted walls, fairy lights, a personalized chicken coop, and even a rose garden planted for their daughter, Rose.

But next time you scroll past one of Stacey’s charming interior photos… just look in the corner. If that green velvet chair is in frame, you’ve been warned: Don’t stare too long.
